TinLid appoints Asobi
Tin Lid Designs main brand is Click Clack cars. Click-Clack Cars are manufactured by a FSC certified manufacturer, and meet the highest international standards. Made from quality plantation beech wood, 100% recyclable plastic; water based paints and varnishes and with a 100% recycled cardboard packaging. Every product in the Click Clack range is produced in the most environmentally friendly way.
Tin Lid was established by entrepreneur Paul Droop in 2006. Paul reports, “Since we launched the Click Clack cars concept it has attracted a lot of interest from the UK & Ireland. I am delighted that we have concluded this agreement with Asobi. We manufactured our first cars in 2008. We are now looking to extend this distribution into the other major European markets and will be present at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February 2011.”
Tin Lid has a distribution network in Australia that spans across 300 retailers, and they are currently selling up to 10,000 units per month. There is an expectation that this figure could double in the coming year through organic growth of the business as well as new Click Clack designs being introduced to the range. Every owner of a Click Clack car will be able to log on to the Tin Lid website to register the car and receive by post the car’s registration certificate as well as a personalised driver's licence.
As Asobi MD Thierry Bourret points out: “this is an eco friendly line, manufactured to strict green credentials. We like the registration idea and more particularly that the driver's licence is sent by post. We feel that this line will fit very well in the Asobi range. The first cars will be available from January 2011 and are now available for pre-order.”
The full Asobi range will be exhibited next at The Autumn Fair & Top Drawer autumn.
